A Smattering of History: Evolution Well I think it would be appropriate to discuss the musical evolution of Dalet-Yod. Alot of the time line is told on the pages of the other individuals. But the SOUND of Dalet-Yod has changed and evolved from many different forms and influences. The essence of Dalet-Yod started with an acoustic guitar and a sirens voice. In fact This is how we got most of our following. From simple acoustic performances. But things started to change with the access to new and very pretty equipment. This was a very nice and at the same time frustrating development for us. At this time we were a 2 piece with a friend sitting in on bass (Michael we love ya!! Thank you for all your hard work and assistance!!), and occasionally a hand percussionist (when we could get one). Eventually we were able to spring some life into our shows, Initially with decision to say "screw it" and bringing out a loud, distortred guitar. Next came a laptop and then we finally got Joel as a permanemt bass player and Rich on programming and keys. And that is the story in a small paragraph. Want more? Wait for the VH1 special. |
